Exhausted
Yo, I'm just back from my client's place. It was really tiring! Imagine, wake up at the 7 a.m.(the latest) and sleep at 12 a.m. (if lucky) for two consecutive weeks. I was sick due to the transmission of germs or bacteria from my manager in charge.
Today was the final day for our field work, hence everyone of us was busy and rushing for completion. Luckily I had finished my two dormant files' field work last week. Thus, I still could assist my senior, W.S.E. this week. He had two files as well, but I don't think he managed to finish them on time even if with my assistance.
I was exhausted. Everyday work for long hours and didn't have my dinner. I missed my lunch today. Yet, we still couldn't finish our part, I mean in detail. There were a lot of works we need to do and lots of areas we need to cover for property developers. It was an eye-opening experience. However, it was also the most difficult subject in F7 and P2, IAS 11 Construction Contracts. As a student, I didn't master this topic as it was one of the most complicated ones. Ergo, as an auditor, it took me quite some time to figure out what the accounting concepts were as well as the double entries.
My manager, G.C.B. came to review my works on Monday. Out of my expectation, he gave me some compliments. Of course, there are still parts where I can improve, such as my cross-referencing.
I don't know how long can I stand. Hopefully I can find a better way to handle it.

Futsal
Yoyoyo, I had my futsal hours last Wednesday with my senior, Gino. Last Tuesday, I cleared review points with him until 1 a.m.. Yes, you're not wrong, it's 1 a.m.. This was the latest time I left office. Hence, we were quite tiring on the next day. Luckily, we went to Simpang Ampat for auditing. We went back to Penang around 5:30 p.m..
When we reached Greenlane, it was about 6:30 p.m.. Gino invited me for futsal. Actually, he invited me once during my first job. However, I didn't go even once because I still needed some time to train my fitness back. Furthermore, I heard from my colleagues, Colin and Jonny that his team was very skillful. Ergo, I dared not to accept the challenge yet. This time, I didn't let the chance go. I accepted his offer. Frankly speaking, I was really worried that I would disappoint them or cause my team to lose the game.
Gino came to fetch me around 9:45 p.m. as our futsal started at 10 p.m.. Majority of the players were older than us, in fact I was the youngest. Besides, most of them were auditors. Nonetheless, a few of them like to smoke.
There were eleven of us. We played five against five and we would rotate the team whenever a team scored two goals. My performance was out of my expectation. I could play. I was so delighted even though I didn't score even one goal but I delivered quite a number of assists. The reasons that I didn't score were my leg was not powerful enough and my poor agility.
My response was quite slow too. It was just about 20% of my previous fitness. One thing which was very encouraging was I didn't get tired easily due to the moderate tempo and also their style of playing. For your information, I used to play 'Kick and Rush' tactics. There usually would be one-man show and we relied heavily on someone who could dribble the ball to the front end. Normally Johnson and Anthony would play this role.
Nevertheless, in this team, they played possession game. 'Men Behind Ball' was a norm over there. As what Gino said, they enjoyed controlling the ball than scoring. This is what we called 'maturity'. They enjoyed having the ball by their sides rather than scoring.
Conclusion for my first futsal game after two years of time:
1) I have to strengthen my stamina, speed, response and agility.
2) I have to play more so that I can know where would they normally go so that I can improve my first touch.
I took two seconds before passing my ball to my teammates and this was too slow. I needed to see where my teammates were when I got the ball but the two seconds were more than enough for the opponents to mark me.
Well, it was fun even though my futsal boots were broken after two matches. I bought a new pair of futsal boots on Thursday and hopefully there would be more opportunities to play futsal then.

Chest Pain
Yo, I forced myself to go for hiking this evening after coming back from my office. This was because I wanted to train my fitness.
Initially, I paid too high expectation on my lousy body. I tried my best to maintain my previous consistency and level of training. Nonetheless, my body couldn't stand it, obviously! Hence, my chest was painful for around 10 minutes. This frightened me a lot as I had never encountered this before. Can you guys guess who was I thought of during that time? My family members, friends or Princess? None of them! I thought of Goku.
Nevertheless, I didn't end the session. God bless, I'm okay now. It was truly out of my expectation, I couldn't accept my fitness right now. I'm even weaker than the time when I was in the primary study. I must train my fitness back. Certainly, I must have the time to do it.
I went up using the hill road but I went down using the main road. Sorry, before that, I should tell you that my destination was Ayer Itam's Dam. I found that it was a long journey when I was walking down. It cost me the same time as I went up the hill. The presumed 'ghost house' had been renovated into a magnificent mansion. It's a prohibited area with PBA as its owner if I were not mistaken. Nevertheless, I still saw two cars were parking over there and few kids and their parents. I hope they were not the ghosts.
I don't know why. Last time, about 10 years ago, there were quite a number of hikers. However, they become bikers now. They either cycled up or drove their car up to the dam's car park, then cycled around the dam.
I started to notice this norm last year. There's a trend to cycle in Penang. Does this due to the rising awareness to reduce carbon dioxide? Of course, this is a very good and healthy incident and I hope there will be more and more people follow this trend. Definitely, there won't be too many expensive or luxurious bicycles on the road.
I hope that my body is okay and healthy because I'm desperate to get my fitness back. I want to join my colleagues in sports events. Before I end here, I would like to delicate this song to you guys, a so-called 'touchwood' song.

Change 2
Yup, it's 'Change 2', that means I had written something about 'Change' before. The first 'Change' was about my Princess but this time, it's pretty serious.
I want to change my life, my family's lifestyle and many others. I know that I'm greedy but I'll do it one by one. Trust me, I can do it! Well, I received my first salary from my new job. It was quite sad because it was so low. I know that you would convince me in this way, "Hey, Recca. There's nothing to worry about. You're still new, imagine how much you would earn after you're experienced. Come on, this is just your first step. Everyone had gone through this."
Is that what you would like to tell me? 'BULLSHIT' is my reply. Audit is totally not a balanced work. You sacrifice so much but yet your salary doesn't match your effort. We're very professional and looked good from the appearance and from other's point of view, however our life is not what they could imagine.
I met quite a few clients. They had the wrong perception on my job. They were filled with consternation when I told them that I couldn't claim overtime or I couldn't claim overtime in full. Some of them would label us as cheap labour. Nonetheless, we're slave or servant instead. I don't mean that I can't stand the overtime but at least, give me a fair pay. Let's be just and fair, I work so hard, please remunerate me fairly.
I also know that I can't change the current audit lifestyle personally. Hence, I wonder why others can sacrifice so much to their job. Do they really like their job so much? We've to behave in front of others and even stand or tolerate their temper. I personally was castigated by a secretary innocently! Nevertheless, being trained in sales market for one to two months, I learned to be calm and endure. Do the superiors know all these? I believe they do but do they give us compliment for these? No, there is no way for that! However, when there are mistakes, we've to endure their temper again. Thus, we can't find support internally sometimes. Luckily I've quite a number of supportive colleagues.
There is also interesting part in audit, for instance stock take. I like stock take, especially when I was on a forklift. It was fantastic. Apart from that, I can learn the manufacturing process or the business cycle for retail business. Besides, knowing new people or dealing with people is what I'm looking forward to. Imagine, I managed to leave a strong impression on one of my clients even though I was auditing the company for two days as a helper. My colleagues who audited the company for two weeks told me that the person in charge missed me so much when I was given another assignment.
Can audit be a milestone in my life? Let's see.

Stocks Sharing
Yo, I received Shen's sms when I was at SIM discussing about my part-time job after coming back from year end stock count in Bukit Mertajam.
We decided to meet at Old Town Farlim. He brought two of his friends who would be one of his fund pool's partners each. First and foremost, I told them about the procedures to open an online stock trading account. I even recommended a few investment banks for their reference.
Later, we began our topic, stock selection. As a beginner, Shen was so enthusiastic to learn the basics in stock trading. I provided him some concepts and personal opinions. I was so thrilled when I gave my advice as this is what I'm interested in, being a consultant. Of course, my advice was free of charge to them.
We picked some samples to analyse. Finally, we decided to have a meeting every fortnight since he wanted to learn more. Actually, I've been out of stock market for some time after having my audit job. I suggested them to diversify their portfolio instead of focusing on one particular stock.
Let's hope for the best and hopefully they can earn some returns in share market.

Advanced Diploma Convocation 2012
First and foremost, I would like to apologise for not updating my blog last week. Below is my reason.
Yoyoyo, I attended my Advanced Diploma Convocation at TARc last Saturday. Due to this, I purposely took advance annual leave on Friday to depart to Kuala Lumpur. Everyone in my office was pretty surprised when I took the leave because I was working for one week only.
I was the driver again even if I worked over time everyday and I was pretty tired. We went to fetch my grandpa before we left Penang. This was the first time my grandpa was willing to 'outstation' after 5 years.
We reached K.L. around 11:00 a.m.. Firstly, we headed to my sister's hostel to take my convocation's gown. Besides, we were going to buy mattress for her and her roommate. After that, we went to have our lunch. I was fed up with an incident before taking our lunch. I was declined to open a saving account at Genting Klang's CIMB Bank. The official told me that I should open the saving account at the branch near my house, my place of study or my workplace in my hometown.
Then, we went to my cousin's house to leave our luggage. I pretended to be one of the staff of my cousin's company in order to open a saving account at Kuchai Lama's CIMB Bank. The mortgage advisor, Bernard Tee told me that I didn't have to do so in my hometown, in fact I could open accounts at any branches.
Finally, everything was settled. I told my cousin that my mom and my sister wanted to buy 'Sticky'. Initially he didn't know what was I talking because they called it “公仔糖” in K.L.. He searched online and accidentally noticed its Facebook's page, there was a food fair or food expo at PWTC. Thus, we decided to go there as they offered a far lower price. Then we went to have Asam Laksa at 茨厂街. My youngest sister had her first experience taking L.R.T. that time.
On Saturday, it was a big day to me. It was not because of my convocation but it was the day to meet Dr Wong. Indeed, convocation was an event for me to gather or meet with my friends. This time, Y.B. Dato Chua Tee Yong was the one giving me the scroll. Out of my expectation, he told me “恭喜、恭喜” instead of 'congratulations'. Due to this, I smiled on the stage. There were fewer lecturers and tutors whom I know attending the parade, including Dr Wong. However, Dr Wong promised to wait for us at her office. My grandpa and my dad were the ones witnessed my convocation ceremony whereas my mom and my sisters were waiting outside the college hall.
After the end of the ceremony, it rained. For your information, my grandpa's super-sensitive to rain. Thereupon, I started to figure out a way to Dr Wong's office without getting wet. Yes, I headed straight away to Dr Wong's office instead of taking pictures with my friends or like what others normally did.
I couldn't find my good friends of my gang other than Vincent Pang. Where were they?
I met T.H.K. at Dr Wong's office. He was wearing a formal wear with coat. He told me that he didn't attend the convocation due to his late submission of the forms and money. Dr Wong was very happy to see me there and I passed her some biscuits from the well-known shop in Penang.
I got to know that T.H.K. had changed department in KPMG. He have changed to Advisory department of Corporate Finance. He told me that his job is exactly what we had done in P4 Advanced Financial Management. It sounds interesting and I believe that I would enter that department one day.
We started to take some photos:
T.H.K., O.T.M., Dr Wong and I. Dr Wong would ask us to take photo together whenever her students came. I still had some photos with Karthiyayini and others. Please send me the pictures for compilation, thank you.

This was taken by O.T.M. when I was going to queue up the stage to receive my scroll.
My family's photo. It was taken by A.C.P., thanks for that.
My family with Dr Wong. They were taken by T.H.K., thank you.
Dr Wong started to praise me when she saw my family members. Initially she spoke in English but I told her that they didn't know English, then she spoke in Mandarin. Dr Wong, actually you flattered me a lot.
T.H.K., Dr Wong, Mr Chong and I. My hook fell aside because I didn't bring any pin on that day.
Finally, Mr Chong extended his contract with TARc for another year. He told me that the P6 Advanced Taxation of ACCA in December 2012 sitting was easier than my sitting. Actually, I heard from Dr Wong before my graduation that Mr Chong was going to retire at the end of this year, luckily he extended his contract for another year. Dr Wong revealed that he is more passionate about his spiritual life.
T.H.K., O.T.M., Dr Wong and I. Dr Wong would ask us to take photo together whenever her students came. I still had some photos with Karthiyayini and others. Please send me the pictures for compilation, thank you.
These were the P4 family together with Mr Chong. These 3 photos were taken by Zack Tan's friend using their DSLR.
This is my youngest sister.
My best friend in TARc. I believed that I couldn't stand my life in TARc if he was not my listener.
I, W.S. and E.S.H..
This is Jennifer, O.S.K..
This is Vayne and I. I'm so sorry that my eyes looked weird. The first photo was because I forgot to shut my flash light. The second one was probably the flash light effect was still there.
This is Claire, whom I always called “表姐”. Actually, she looked prettier when she didn't make up. This is just my opinion. We looked like a vampire.
After that, we went back to meet my cousin for lunch. We had 怡保律酿豆腐 before we gave my younger sister her first experience to take L.R.T and monorail even though she has been in K.L. for few months.
This was taken in Pavilion. We witnessed the Sticky making process. It was amazing.
After we had our Bak Kut Teh as dinner, we went back to my cousin's house to rest. I met my nephew for the very first time at my uncle's house. He was so cute and I couldn't stop kissing him.
My nephew, Jensen and I. The one that I kissed him was with my uncle and I'm still waiting for him to tag me in Facebook.
On Sunday, we went to take my photo taken by the appointed photographer at TARc. I met some other friends over there, such as C.W.F., P.M.L., etc.. We went back to Penang after having our lunch at Puchong. It was a tiring journey and I almost met accidents, thanks god for blessing us to have a safe and sound journey.
There was traffic jam from Sungai Buloh to Rawang as there was car accident at Rawang due to heavy rain. I didn't know whether I was caught for speeding by A.E.S. Frankly speaking, I did speed and I didn't notice even one A.E.S. on my way to K.L.. Nonetheless, I did find two A.E.S.s on my way back.
Ergo, this was how I spent my days in K.L. to attend my Advanced Diploma convocation. I think, many of you may think that I miss the important moment but I'm not thinking in that way, as what I said, the purpose that I attended the convocation was to meet my friends and Dr Wong.

Audit Life
Yo, I have started working for one week as an Audit Associate. It was bizarre that the director of Deloitte offered me the position of Tax Associate last Wednesday when I was working at my client's place. I definitely would accept her offer if she informed me earlier. Nonetheless, she still hopes I can join them next year or half year later. Thanks for your consideration, Monica.
Being a fresh graduate, I hadn't involved in both tax or audit department before, hence I'm not sure which department is of my interest. Dr Wong does hope me to involve in tax as according to her classmate, who is the Tax Director at BDO KL, I can lean more in taxation and be a specialist. However, it hinders my opportunity to venture to overseas.
Frankly speaking, I started to regret on my first day working in audit. That certainly is not my cup of tea. What I like is my firm's environment. The manager, assistant manager, audit senior and colleagues are pretty good. They're humble, patience and willing to teach. This is what attracting me so much but not the audit work.
My conclusion after one-week audit experience is this job is not a humane job. Sacrifice is a major part in this job.
Last night, I played badminton again after at least one month. Eddy told me that audit is certainly a path which accounting graduates must go through. I don't agree with that. Aaron and Edwin are very happy at Dell as Financial Development Program candidates and they never regret with their decision. G.C. Lee from Dell was an auditor in Big Four as well, but she was happier joining Dell and denied the fact that audit gave her more exposure or experience.
If I were given the options, I would choose to involve in management. This is where I'm interested in and passionate about. Nevertheless, I can't claim ACCA PER objectives in this role. Thus, I have to join audit. My assistant manager complained about audit life as well on my first day of working. You can imagine how I would feel after that or the impact of negative message she conveyed to me.
However, she said I would be better master up the audit skills, then I can venture to overseas since the audit steps are almost similar. What dismayed me so much was I didn't know what to do. I was not familiar with the schedules, working papers and their formats as well. On top of that, this client is a newly incorporated company, thereupon substantial audit procedures have to be carried out. This worsens my first audit experience.
No matter what it is, I decide to stay with my current firm for a period of time, then I'll decide for my future. Let's hope for the best.
