PC Fair

This afternoon after having my lunch, I went home to put my bag since I got Tax lecture and Guest lecture this morning. Then, I headed to Wangsa Maju LRT Station in order to go to K.L.C.C..

When I got into the LRT, Anthony called me. I felt so weird but I could guess his intention. Exactly, he asked me to buy something to him. I was so doubted that he asked me to buy three joysticks. I remembered that I invited him to PC Fair last night but he rejected me by revealing that he had nothing to buy. Okay, I bought for him with a price of RM8 each.

When I arrived at K.L.C.C., I was lost. K.L.C.C. is too big, I couldn't find the way to PC Fair as this is my first time to PC Fair in Kuala Lumpur. I immediately called my cousin and finally I managed to be there under his instruction. Apparently, there was still a long way to go in order to be there. I had to pass through two tunnels inclusive the LRT's tunnel. The compound of PC Fair was so big. It was divided into 3 parts, namely Conference Hall 1-5, Banquet Hall and other halls. We had to take escalator to the top floor and then gradually came down. It was one-way designed, meaning that whatever you want to buy at any hall must be bought at once. If you miss it, you have to start from the first entrance. Luckily, I was still able to glance through before deciding which stall should I buy the products from.

It was really crowded and there were a number of warnings warning us beware of our wallets and belongings. What I could tell you was there were a lot of models. They were very nice and letting people took their pictures. They even acted in different poses. I spent almost RM300 today because I bought a lot of things in PC Fair. I purchased a screen protector and screen cleaner which cost me RM15 and RM5 respectively. I also acquired a mouse pad with RM10 and a 400GB external hard disk with RM168. 400GB? Yes, I'm not wrong, it's really 400GB but when I reached home and tested its capacity, I noticed that it was just 372GB.

Before I went home, I suddenly recalled that I had to buy something first. Therefore, I shopped around K.L.C.C.. The goods in K.L.C.C. are extremely expensive and not suitable for a poor student like me. However, I eventually bought something before I went back as a present for my Princess. This was what I had promised her and her birthday is around the corner. What made me so excited was when I asked the salesgirl that is there other colours available? She said no and asked me whether I bought it to my girlfriend. I was shocked when she said this but I was so delighted, I smiled and answered 'yes'. Actually, I didn't know why I answered in this way, probably I hoped that I could get some discounts but my wish didn't come true.

When I was on my way to K.L.C.C. LRT Station, my mom called me. She told me that my PC broke already and she wanted to take it for repaired. She asked me what should she do since my sister didn't know everything. I just simply gave her instruction as I was so disgusted. This was because every time when something happens, my parents just ask me to settle it. They are so reluctant to ask my sister to do it even though I request. Thereupon, I am experienced but they are inexperienced. When I am not at home like now, they are in a mess. This is the consequence of relying too heavily on me. Actually, what they need to do is just reformatting the PC but they don't know how to reformat the PC. No choice, then they have to let other people earn that money, perhaps they can learn a lesson from this incidence.

M.L.T.A.

Hi, is me again. For your information, I had an English persuasive presentation this afternoon. I did it quite poorly. I considered it as poor as the presentation couldn't even convince myself. I couldn't spur up the mood of the audiences. Due to this, I treated it as a failure. Somehow, I managed to get high marks. I got 9 upon 10 marks for all the assessment criteria, namely delivery, language, visual aids, content and overall impression. Wasn't it high? This was unexpected as I just could give myself a maximum of 70 marks.

Maybe I met my Luckygirl this morning. I was taking my pendrive outside the computer laboratory when I met her. She wished me good luck, all the best and wanted me to "add oil". Actually, I felt nothing at that moment, but it stroke me during my presentation. I forgot some of my speech but I still able to get such a high mark and remarkable comments from my tutors, Mr Johnny. I think, this is inevitable related to her. Thanks ya, if you read my post here.

Okay, back to the topic here. My presentation's title was M.L.T.A.. What is that? It is a type of Mortgage Life Insurance. It stands for Mortgage Level Term Assurance. It helps us to pay off the outstanding loan amount in the event that we die or suffer total and permanent disability. If you are going to borrow money to acquire a property, then you are inevitable to buy this but the bankers usually or almost 100% will ask you to buy M.R.T.A. (Mortgage Reducing Term Assurance) instead. Why? What are the differences between both policies?

This is because M.R.T.A. is bought in one lump sum. The bankers don't need to worry whether you default the payment or not as you are required to pay in one lump sum. If you can't afford to pay at the beginning, then the bankers will be happier since they can ask you to finance it into your loan, they can earn more interest from it. See, how cunning the bankers are. So, please don't fall into the traps of bankers after reading this post. The premiums of M.L.T.A. are paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or yearly and the total amount of premiums paid is much more higher than the premiums of M.R.T.A.. Are you thinking that I am trapping you and inducing you to do a stupid thing? Be patient, let me explain more to you.

Yes, you pay more for M.L.T.A. but the premiums are refundable to you at maturity date! Yes, please believe me, they are refundable to you if no compensation is claimed. With M.R.T.A., the premiums are burnt at maturity date, you get nothing from it. M.L.T.A. is transferable whenever you purchase a new property or refinance your loan or transfer it to your son. What you need to do is just adjusting the sum assured to match your new loan as many times as you like. Take note, you only purchase once, with the same sum assured, you don't have to prove your health condition again. However, you have to buy a new M.R.T.A. again and again whenever you buy a new property.

Besides, M.L.T.A. provides full protection. Let's say your loan is RM300,000. M.L.T.A. pays you RM300,000 no matter how many years from the date of purchase. M.R.T.A. provides reducing protection to you which means that the protection is gradually dropping year after year. Let's assume something bad happens to you in the 20th year and the outstanding loan amount is RM100,000. M.L.T.A. pays you RM300,000. You just take the RM100,000 to pay back to bank and keep the remaining RM200,000. With M.R.T.A., it just pays you RM100,000 if the Base Lending Rate (B.L.R.) remains the same. Nevertheless, if B.L.R. increases, then M.R.T.A. is insufficient to cover the balance due as the loan amount owed will be increased as well. Then, imagine, you are disabled now but the insurance policy that you bought can't help you to repay the loan balance, how are you going to deal the insufficient portion? Are you going to finance with bankers again or from loan sharks? Don't forget, the bankers will chase after your family members in case you are handicapped. What if your family members are low income earners or even don't have any income?

These were the three points that I presented today and actually, there are many more points. If you are interested, you can 'google' it and have a more knowledge on it because I'm sure you will acquire your own house one day. Bear in mind, choose the most suitable policy and be a wise consumer!

Why I know this so much since I am still young? I knew it from Hong Leong Assurance. They introduced me this policy and I used their points and what I had heard from them to present it to my tutor and my classmates. Hopefully they understood what I presented.

Disappointment 2

This morning, I was quite disappointed after getting my tax's test result. I just got 26.5 upon 40 marks. It was quite bad, wasn't it? I didn't know why my answers were quite similar to my friend's one, however he had full mark (8 marks) for that question but I just got 5 marks! It was quite ridiculous! I knew how to do it but I didn't know why I got such a low mark!

You must be saying that I can find my tutor to ask for marks, right? Nevertheless, if you know me, you sure will know that this is not my style. Unless I had been given modal answer and it is proven that the tutor gave me less mark, otherwise I won't find my tutor asking for marks or checking. Hopefully my assignment can help me to earn back what I deserve to, otherwise it will be a hell life for me. I have made some provisions. If I get 55% of my coursework, meaning that I have to get at least 91 marks in order to get an A. Hopefully I won't get into such a terrible condition.

Via other perspectives, it was not a nightmare to me. It is a warning to me, it signals that my effort was not enough. Besides, it is my motivator, it motivates me to study hard! Alright, I will adjust my form and start preparing for my final examination next week. Let's see.

Busy

This morning, I just finished my Financial Reporting's test. Luckily, I could do it. It was not as tough as I thought. Hopefully I could get good result for it, otherwise I would need to pay more hard work next semester and also in my final examination.

Recently, I am really busy. After this week, I have to submit my Tax Individual assignment and Tax Group assignment next week. Oh ya, 1 more, I need to submit my Business Information Technology and Application's assignment by next week. After that, I have Business Information Technology and Application's test in the following week. A fortnight later, I will have my final examination. See, this is the hectic life that is waiting for me. For your information, I can't go back to my hometown after my examination because I still have to attend Audit software's practical training for two days. I most probably will go back on 7th of September 2010.

Forget one thing again! I have to finish my Deloitte Tax Challenge's questions for the first round by next week as well. If I'm lucky and moving to the second round, I have to at least spare a day to do my writing test and presentation. If, I say if, if I can proceed to the final, I must do my final round's presentation on 3rd September 2010.

Therefore, this is my hectic life and I believe, next semester will be more hectic as compared with current. Let's hope for the best.

Maxis vs P1

Hi friends, do u miss me? Don't worry, I am still okay here. I want to announce that, from today onwards, I will maintain my rate of updating my blog like previously. Why? This is because I have decided to continue my contract to subscribe Maxis broadband.

For your information, my house still can't get the internet service done up to today, therefore I subscribe P1 Wimax last Friday. I signed up for W1ggy 89 package which cost me RM89 per month with 15GB of fair usage policy. It sounded not bad, right? However, I terminated the service after one day. Huh? Am I crazy? Of course not! Let me analyse it to you. The P1's line is not stable in where I stay, it often disconnects after half an hour. Besides, what made so angry was it couldn't let me finish updating my anti-virus due to its frequent disconnections. It is ridiculous, isn't it? What more silly was, imagine, now you are connected, but when you move your laptop or accidentally hit your laptop, it goes disconnecting straight away. Due to these, I terminated it after one day of subscription and the promoter told me that, the USB modem is designed for outdoor use, if I want to use it indoor, I should opt the big Wiggy modem which provides wireless function and 20GB of fair usage policy with the same fee charged. However, I dislike the big modem and my housemates are not willing to share with me. They prefer to sign up for Streamyx's UniPack which requires two years of contract. I don't know what will they do after our graduation but before the expiration of the contract. Due to the uncertainty, I chose not to join them.

My cousin brought his Maxis broadband to me and I had tried to use it before. Even though its fair usage policy is just 6GB per month with monthly fee of RM98, but to me, it is reasonable worthy as its line is so stable. 6GB means 6000+MB per month, divided by 30 days, meaning that I can use up to 200MB per day. Of course, I won't download anything or watch movies before the expiration date. If I want to download songs or whatever, I can do it in my uncle's house where Streamyx is available. I don't know because according to what my Tailo told me, normally Maxis provides stable line for the new users within the 7 days of cooling period. After this, the line is getting poorer and poorer. I hope this wouldn't happen to me and I strongly believe it won't as I had tried my cousin's one before. Even though it is more expensive, but I will bear the cost myself as it is still cheaper as compared with Celcom broadband.

Let's hope for the best.

Close

Hello, it's me again. Finally managed to 'steal' other's line to update my blog.

Yesterday I been an observer for SIFE project. All the participants were really awesome. They impressed me a lot. I wish I could be one of them in the future as well but I clearly know my own abilities. It's not an easy stuff to be the same level with them but I will try.

What do I mean by 'close'? At last, I decided to 'close' myself. I won't think about this matter anymore, at least before my graduation. I had been disappointed in this matter for many times and I am often the victim in this matter as well as causing interruption to others. Maybe I am not talented. Ooops, it's nothing about talent, maybe it's my destiny which I can't go against even though I try to.

I don't know why, nowadays I become silent! Is this weird to me? If you know me, you surely will feel strange. However, this is the truth! Initially, I treat my blog as my own place, meaning that I will 'all-out' and express myself without any hesitation and concealment. Nonetheless, one of my friends told me that we should not be too frank! We should not tell others everything of ours. We should have our own privacy and confidentiality. Maybe she is right but this is not my style. If I want to conceal myself, then I won't start my blog from the beginning. Nevertheless, I will try not to totally expose myself anymore. If something is a secret, then it's a mystery to all of you. I will keep you guessing without revealing a single hint of it except to those I trust!

'Close' myself is a tough decision but the reality has forced me to do so. I have no choice! I think, I will change back to the one that everyone knew previous years as my current transformation's outcome doesn't meet my expectation. Then it would be great to 'release' myself and tease all the girls, hehehe...

Few days ago, I almost quit my study and eventually, I have made up my mind. I will continue my study and try my best to get the greatest achievements as possible. I know what should I do in the future and I know that is what I want. Sometimes, it's good to know what you want compared with just carry out your daily life without a dream. Bye.

Resolved

Eventually, our misunderstanding was resolved. Today was my Diploma Convocation Day, I was glad to have a chance to chat with her and I used this opportunity to resolve our misunderstanding. She admitted that she lied me, but, it was too late! Haha, just joking. Fine, as long as you honest to me, I still consider you as my friend.

We took a lot of pictures outside C.A.. What was not so perfect was Princess was absent today. Nevertheless, it was okay. I met my Darling and I took picture with her as well. I told her that it would be wonderful if my god sister was there and she agreed with me too. I took lots of pictures with my lecturers and tutors. I really enjoyed it because all the tutors and lecturers were pretty linear and I could chat with them 'openly' without any worry.

In short, today was so good and I hope that my next convocation will be as wonderful or perhaps more excellent than this. Let's hope for it. Book prize, hopefully I can catch 'you' soon.

PS: Sorry guys, I will upload my pictures later.

My Hometown

Before I start to write this post, I want to say thousands of apologies to all the followers since I had not been updating my blog for 1 month! This was due to the 'slow work' from TM Point. Since we applied Streamyx via agent, hence our application was delayed by the TM Point's workers as they give priority to those who apply directly from them. I do believe that this condition may happen for two more weeks. Thereupon, thousands apologies are addressed to all of you again!

Finally, I am back to my hometown. I came back last night at 9.30p.m.. After struggling 1 month in KL, I realise that my hometown is the best place to stay. Being an outsider in a totally strange place, I sometimes felt helpless.

This morning, I went to visit my grandpa as my mother told me that my grandpa almost needed to be warded after the usual medical check up on this Monday. However, when I was there, I found that he was as usual, nothing special. Good to see that because nothing is more important than our health. My aunty said that my chin has been 'sharpened'! Meaning that, I have become thinner! Haha, I don't know why my cousins grew fatter after studying in KL but I was the contrast! Maybe this was due to the college compound and absorb too much of gas emitted from buses!

Penang is my hometown and I love it! I can feel my existence here unlike in KL where I feel that I am totally disappeared from scenes. No one bothers you there, no one wants to listen to you and so forth. It was extremely tortured living over there. I could feel that I was the 'excess'. Maybe I was 'worthless' already. Nobody takes you into consideration when making a decision. What I can do is following! No comments are allowed!

I get this theory in KL- in order to be respected, you must not be the 'excess', you must not be 'worthless', you must not become 'priceless', instead, you must show your quality to others. Nonetheless, this is not my style. Therefore, I choose to stay silent! What I hope now is getting my Streamyx as soon as possible, at least, I won't be too bored!

New Life

One week over, it was so fast, I had been staying in KL for one week.

What can I conclude over these few days? One word-- bored! It's damn bored here without internet service. I think, I can only get the internet service done by next week. Therefore, one more week to go. Oh God, please don't treat me like this.

Another thing I realise now is, I don't have enough money to spend. Being the first week here, I have incurred almost RM1000 over. The expenses included furniture costs, daily expenses, bus fares and so on. What annoys me the most is I must buy original text book which costs me over RM200.

On the other hand, there were some good things here as well. For instance, the high-end technology in our college. I made my student ID card yesterday. I thought we have to bring our own picture and pass it to the staffs there as stated in our college's intranet but they prefer us to key in our information ourselves and take our picture as well as taking our student ID card on the spot. The process was fast. Another thing is our Communication and Information Technology Centre(CITC), for your information, this is a newly built building where we can access to the net. However, the problem arose then. We couldn't log in to the computer as it needed our log in ID. We couldn't log in with our Penang's ID and our new ID still needs one week to process. Thereupon, we could do nothing there unless we bring our own laptop. What amased me was there was a baggage room there where there were a few assistants to help us to take good care of our bags. This is a good service as compared with Penang's one.

The KL main campus has sophisticated technology but we have to get to know more about something ourselves. I know this is our college's policy to train our students to be more confident and independent. Even though it was quite troublesome to me but I believe that I will use to it gradually. The KL main campus is too big to me and how unlucky we are in the sense that our lecture halls are located at the back of the college. I remembered that I told my friends that college could prepare around 10000 bicycles for our students to get into our college as it is really too far to get in!

One more thing I want to say here is, the weather over here is extremely humid! The humidity here is so high. Imagine, I sweated even though it was a windy day when I was just standing at a shady area. My whole body get wet whenever I go out of my house. This happens even during the night time. Terrible, isn't it?

No choice, I had chosen to pursue my study here, so I will try my best to stop complaining and find remedies as mentioned by my college's Principal. Good luck.
