KLIA Trip

Yo, yesterday I went to KLIA for the first time. Initially, I didn't decide to go but suddenly I had this kind of desire. Yesterday, after our Financial Management's tutorial, it was raining. However, after our lunch, it stopped. Then I suddenly wanted to go to KLIA because my cousin is over there to sell shoes and bags.

I quickly went back to my hostel because I needed to solarise our clothes and carried out my duty, which was cleaning our house. After I finished all these stuffs, it was 2p.m. over, then I departed. Initially, I thought it was quite simple to be there but I couldn't see any road sign to KLIA nearby. Therefore, I called my cousin in order to get the direction. He prohibited me from going there as it was raining like cats and dogs over there, further, it was a long journey to be there. Nonetheless, I insisted to go as I already went out, there was no point for me to reverse back. He told me that I should follow the road to Seremban, then I would see road sign to KLIA.

Since I tried new road, thus it took me quite a lot of time in order to be in the right way. I went to Dataran Merdeka, 茨厂街, KL Sentral, then to Mid Valley and KLIA. Luckily got this experience, then I got to know that 茨厂街 is in Petaling Street and KL Sentral is in Jalan Tun Sambathan besides Bangsar. It was a long-hour journey. I took around one and a half hour to be there because even the buses on the highway were faster than my motorcycle. There were plenty of tolls, luckily they didn't charge motorcyclist. When I reached LCC Terminal, which is the terminal for AirAsia, I called my cousin to confirm my direction, he asked me to move further instead of turning left to LCC Terminal by following the way to Terminal.

I parked my motorcycle at the parking lots provided by a hotel over there. Then I moved to meet my cousin, he said he was at the 5th floor of KLIA's departure section. However, I couldn't find him since he was watching the aeroplanes at viewing area (Anjung Tinjau). When I found him, I saw he was with his girlfriend. Haha, they came to work together. When I reached there, I just had one word to describe my feeling, 'disappointed'. Why I said so? This is because KLIA is one of the top airports in the world and it is expected to have a useful life of at least 50 years, according to our former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir. It is no doubts that it has a magnificent outlook, but inner part is quite disappointed. I don't mean that it is ugly but its compound is too small.

Initially, I planned to buy some things in the duty-free or tax-free area but I was disappointed as I couldn't enter those areas unless I had a passport or was going to depart during that time. Sad! At the viewing area, I could see quite a variety of aeroplanes but mostly were MAS airplanes such as 737, 747 and 757. I had the opportunity to watch the operation of the airport. There were 5 channels or tunnels which connected to the aeroplanes whenever the aeroplanes park at the lane as a channel for the passengers to get into and off the airplanes. What made me so shocked was the tunnels were 'extendable'.

After that, we moved to my cousin's stalls. He is selling shoes and bags with the brand 'XES'. I had never heard of this brand before, did you? A belt and shirt were catching my eyes, however I just asked my cousin to reserve the belt for me as my mother had bought shirts for me. The belt cost me RM109.90 before 30% discount. They didn't allow me to pay with debit card unless the item that I purchased exceeded RM100. Thereupon, I asked my cousin to reserve it for me as he might be getting extra discount for me, hehe... On my way to take my motorcycle, I noticed that the escalators are so high-tech. There are 2 scanners each located at the beginning and end parts of the escalators. It will run the escalator if it scans that there is people passing by and stop the escalator when there is no people using the escalator.

Then I went back to KL. Before I went back to my hostel, I went to buy 麻辣板面 from my cousin's god mother as her 板面 is the best in KL so far. The journey was so long that I needed to fill my petrol twice. Haiz, but this was cheaper as compared with going by bus which would cost me RM10 per trip. Nevertheless, it was extremely dangerous going there by motorcycle. This was my first time using highway to go to a far place. I lapped and tried to maximise my motorcycle's efficiency and speed. I noticed that, the maximum speed which my motorcycle can reach is 120km/hr. Maybe the road is stiff for some distances and not steady, otherwise it can speed up to 130km/hr at least since the maximum speed shown on my meter is 140km/hr.

These are the photos taken at Dataran Merdeka.

This is the Ministry of Information and Communication, located opposite to Dataran Merdeka.

This is the entrance if you enter into KLIA from Pan Pacific Hotel.

Main hall of KLIA.

Check-in counters.

This is the toilet bowl. This was my first time seeing a rectangular toilet bowl. It has a sensor which will flush the bowl on its own after you used it. Do you notice the cigarette in the bowl? It's not mine. What I want to say here is the water is flushed too softly until the cigarette remains in the bowl, haiz...

Christmas is coming, hohoho...

Landing area.

This is 757.

This is the place to drop and get passengers. Can you see the channels and tunnels?

Apparently, the handle has to be pushed down before you can move your trolley.

It is quite disappointed that we can't see the aeroplanes flying and landing at the viewing area. :(
