Farewell Test

I was having two mid-term tests this week. The first paper was Advanced Taxation. Frankly speaking, it was not tough but I couldn't score full marks as I used the wrong format. The second paper was Advanced Financial Management. This was a tough paper! Imagine, we need to find the NPV of NPV while converting the currency and finding our own cost of capital. I was very delighted with the standard of the paper. It was just thrilling me and I loved it so much even though I couldn't answer the questions perfectly. This was the level that I'm looking for! Well done, Ms Chang.

This Thursday was our last lecture with Ms Chang. Ms Chang would be replaced by Dr Wong after receiving some feedback and complaints from the students. Hence, she was in no mood on Thursday and E.S.H and I could feel that. Luckily, we still managed to cheered Ms Chang up occasionally.

Everybody seems to be so excited with the return of Dr Wong. In my opinion, this might be due to the past record of Dr Wong in maintaining our TARc's AFM ACCA pass rate to a level almost double the AFM ACCA world pass rate. It sounds marvelous, isn't it? However, I had received lots of negative comments from my AAC friends. Ergo, her return might be a good turning point or bad one to us.

For your information, Ms Chang was recommended by Dr Wong before she retired. Now, they seems to be not trusting Dr Wong. I could smell the tension and conflict between Kenneth and Dr Wong. Kenneth was my tutor and I liked him so much. He was the mighty opponent that I mentioned on my Facebook's wall. I see him as my role model. The way he taught and the experience he possessed was why he could attract me so much. He was a CFO. He said he wouldn't teach as long as Dr Wong is back. However, this didn't imply that he supported Ms Chang. He used to complain Ms Chang as well. Thereupon, I was not happy with the arrangement that Dr Wong would takeover all the tutorial classes. Please let Mr Kenneth stayed with me.

I didn't understand why students disliked Ms Chang. She was improving in every lecture. If you all didn't know, she did ask for E.S.H and others opinions. This proved that she was dedicated and keen to help us. I did admit that she didn't contribute much time to us but I could see her effort.

I found a very attractive book in the library. It was the biography of Steve Jobs. I got to know that Steve Jobs was the adopted child of Paul Jobs and his real name was Steven Paul Jobs. I didn't finish the book yet. I found one section talking about his elementary level of study where he was a problematic student liking to create troubles. His dad confronted with the teachers and reiterated that it was the problem of the teachers for not making the learning and study attractive to his son.

Nonetheless, this was not applicable to Ms Chang. Steve Jobs already knew all of the study as he was educated by his mom in young age. In my opinion, Ms Chang couldn't conduct the lecture interactively and didn't give examination techniques were the key points that students disliked her. To me, she was okay as she could answer my questions and clear my doubts. I'm the kind of self-study student.

Few students attended the Thursday's lecture. Nevertheless, at least 95% of them were there for tips of the following day's test. Honestly speaking, I despised them! As you may know how much I disregard the so-called professional judgements from one of my posts, 'Tips'.

Ms Chang always 'overtime' in teaching us. You can know all these by asking the AFM students, how 'black' were the faces of the Malays when it was time to lock the lecture hall. Other than this, she always stayed back with us and answered students' questions after lecture. Imagine, it was 9:00p.m. when the lectured ended and she stayed back until almost 10:00p.m..

There was one particular student occupied the 'overtime' every time and the student was the one who complained the most! Again, I disdained the student. I feel so scary how the world is now. The person closest to you is your enemy. He can stab you without your knowledge and still act to be friend with you. I hate this kind of people. They just like to do things 'blackly' and I'm sure this kind of cowards are not dare enough to confront you in front!

Nowadays, people like the look things at their covers and outcomes, they don't emphasise on the process anymore. I don't know whether this is the trend now but what I can tell you is, you are not a good leader! You won't get long-term success in the future! I'm so sorry to be so straightforward.

Anyhow, it's over. Hopefully they get what they wish to. Happy Chinese New Year 2012 to all of you.
