Magic Series 12

Yoyoyo, I finally made a magic video clip yesterday. My friend, W.W.P. helped me to film it after our F.D.M.'s presentation. I think, this will be my last magic video clip in TARc, so it was my farewell performance. Okay, without going further, please allow me to talk a bit about my presentation yesterday.

As you might have known, this presentation was my last presentation in TARc, hence it was very significant to me as I had high expectation to end my last presentation in a remarkable manner. Unfortunately, I hereby to announce that it was a catastrophe! I can say that it was the worst presentation I had ever had in TARc other than the one in Business Investment Game's final.

There was technical problem in the Business Investment Game's final but this time, it was man-made human error! For your information, I always occupy the space during my presentation, thus I need someone to help me to run the slides in case there is no wireless mouse available for me. I did the same yesterday. I asked one of my group mates, William to help me out.

I purposely gave him my script few days in advance so that he could practise and get familiar to my speech. I indicated clearly with red ink where he should click to run the animations. Unfortunately, he couldn't make it. His slow response interrupted my rhythm! It was still okay for me for the first time but the disaster kept on happening! I couldn't stand and control my temper anymore and hence I slammed on the table.

Definitely, the audience was shocked. C.K. was laughing at me. I knew that I shouldn't do it that way. I should control my temper and handle it nicely, for instance go to the laptop and run the slides on my own. I couldn't think of this during that time. I was so upset and disappointed. I think, I should think of every possibilities and train my ability to respond to prevent the uncertainties and unforeseen!

In my opinion, it was a very simple and easy task but yet he couldn't make it! He said I spoke too fast but the fact was, I did pause and change my tone as well as rhythm on a few occasions. There is no point to hear a monotone presentation. Besides, what he needed to do was following my speed and paying attention on my script. I didn't skip even a single sentence, therefore it was pretty easy to follow. However, somehow rather, he failed to make it!

The second excuse he gave me was, some of my animations were missing. This excuse was almost impossible to me as before I handed in my slides, I did rehearse a few times. Hence, this excuse was totally not acceptable! At the end of the presentation, he kept on saying sorry to me but I knew it was over. I couldn't restart the presentation once more and I was destined to end my last presentation in such a 'remarkable' way! If possible, I hope to exchange his 'sorry' for a good show!

After the presentation, I called W.W.P. out to help me film this video. Initially, I planned to film it at the pavilion of Block Q but there was occupied! Luckily, I found an empty tutorial room. This magic was about LYNAS. LYNAS is a very hot topic now and Malaysia government decided to permit their entrance in Kuantan. I saw one of my magic's group mates filmed his magic relating to LYNAS and I found it very meaningful. It really inspired me a lot and ergo, I decided to have my own one too.

Last week, I was thinking about the routine and the kinds of trick which were suitable. Fortunately, I made it. For your information, this was not the original version as I revised the performance when I rehearsed for the second time. It was the back palm's part. I found that my original movement was bored since I had performed in that way once. Hence, I tried to modify it and made it more mysterious so that it gave different effect to my audience. Hopefully I make it and you are fancy of it.

Alright, back to LYNAS's case. The government kept on insisting that there would be no radiation and the residue of the rare earth would be transported back to Australia. Hence, there would be no radioactive issue and asked the citizens and residents not to be worried so much!

I was wondering, if it's really not radioactive, why the Australians don't want to do it themselves? My friend, Vincent Pang told me that it was due to lower labour cost in Malaysia and Kuantan could provide a wider area for their factory. Then I'm doubtful again. If you want to compare labour cost, other ASEAN countries are lower than us, then why should they choose Malaysia? Regarding size of area, please don't forget, middle of Australia is a very wide mountain area where few people reside over there. It should be a suitable place.

Frankly speaking, I didn't do any research on rare earth. Nonetheless, from the information posted on the Facebook, I know the rare earth's functions and usage. The process will emit toxic gases and the gases will fuse with the water vapour in the cloud. When it rains, the toxic or radioactive rain will flow to the area below the cloud. It could be a residential area, sea, mountain and so on. Therefore, the polluted rain will contaminate the sea creatures, humans and other agricultural crops. Please bear in mind, these contaminated wildlife will be our food. Thereupon, humans are the ones will be polluted in the end.

If you're still dare to say that it's okay and no radiation, then it's fine, please move and stay beside LYNAS's plant to prove what you say is correct! Please, don't think nowadays, the 'rakyat' is still stupid and not knowledgeable. Please don't fool the 'rakyat' anymore!

Don't forget, the polluted rain will flow to the nearby countries as well. They are our stakeholders too. If they protest as well, how much loss will Malaysia suffer? Do you still want to play with our economy and G.D.P.? Do you still want to earn that money at the expense of 'rakyat' and Malaysia's future?

For your own sake, for your children, for your future generations and for the 'rakyat', please... Think twice and act wisely.

My god sister was so excited and fancy with my performance. She shared my video, this was the first time she did this. Even though I always state 'all rights reserved' or 'please respect the intellectual property', these are not meant to prohibit people from sharing my videos. I just mean that please don't claim that they are yours. Honestly speaking, I'm quite happy to know that people like my video. I think, my god sister meant that I did a good job for the anti-LYNAS's campaign rather than my performance and tricks in the video. My mood turned good after reading her comment. Thank you, sis, you're one of my motivators!

I spoke quite a number of languages and dialects, don't tell me that the government doesn't understand even one because they always say '1 Malaysia', then it's time for them to show that they really think of '1 Malaysia'. I incorporated '1 Malaysia's element in this video. I spoke Chinese (Mandarin, Hokkien, Hakka and Cantonese), Tamil which was taught by my classmate, ESh KAy, English and Malays. Here is my magic video clip, hopefully you all like it:
