New Life 4

It's been 1 week since I arrived at Kuala Lumpur. My life has changed, definitely. I'm not the only one, everybody has changed indeed. Some of them have changed their hairstyle, fashion, attitude and so on.

So do I. I had cut my hair short, it's been quite a long time for me to cut my hair to such short, but it's okay. Everybody seemed to be so curious on where do I stay now. Nonetheless, do they know that curiosity kills the cat? I didn't answer directly because I think, this doesn't matter them. What I can tell is, I rent a room and I stay alone. I'm pretty happy with my current condition.

On the contrary, there're things that still remained constant. For instance, the male toilets are still dirty. I don't know why boys dislike to flush the toilet after using it. Do they know that it's very disgusting to the subsequent users? Certainly, I don't know whether this happen in female toilet as well, if you are a girl, please leave your comment here and we'll discuss it.

Other than this, my lecturers are still kind to me. For example, my first semester's tax lecturer, Mr Michael Yeo. I met him on Monday after attending the P3 Business Analysis's briefing by Dr Yeo. He was withdrawing money from the ATM machine at Canteen 2. I initially ignored him but he walked so fast until near my side, then I greeted him and said goodbye to him. We had a short conversation and he was so generous and kind to offer me a fetch. I rejected him since my motorcycle was parked outside the college. For your information, I felt so touched at that time. This was not only due to his kindness but he remembered me. Once again, disappointment drove me crazy, I couldn't get a result as expected by him. Sorry, Sir.

Well, I promise you that I'll work harder and be serious from now onwards.

AirAsia

Last Friday, I took AirAsia's airplane to come to Kuala Lumpur. The air ticket was booked last year with a promotion price. On that day, my dad asked me to pay more careful when riding motorcycle in Kuala Lumpur before going to work. Even though he didn't look at me seriously but I knew that he concerned about me and missed me. Okay, I will try my best not to get any single injury.

Before I went to airport, I asked my mom to fetch me to P.I.S.A. since there was PC Fair and I wanted to buy a pendrive. For your information, my 4GB Kingmax pendrive was broken and I had threw it in the dustbin. I bought a 8GB pendrive then I pursued to airport. When I reached airport, it was just 12:15p.m. even though my flight was scheduled at 2:45p.m.. This was because my mom just took half-day leave in order to fetch me there, she still needed to continue her work at 1:30p.m..

My mom was busy finding a parking lot and hence I asked her why. She said she wanted to follow me entering the airport. I knew her intention but I had cruelly rejected her. After I took my luggage, I asked her to leave because I didn't want to delay her time to go for work, instead I wanted to do all the things on my own to gain more experience.

I put my luggage on the trolley. As what I had mentioned in the post, named 'KLIA Trip', we needed to press down the handle before the trolley could move. Now I know that, this is because the handle serves as an automatic hand brake. I followed the instruction to enter the main hall as the Penang Airport was under renovation.

I didn't know what to do, ergo I headed to AirAsia's counter to ask for more information and instructions. The Chinese lady spoke English with me and told me the way to check-in. I even naively asked that whether I could check-in at the counter. She said the counter was set to sell flight ticket only. Then, I followed her guidance and went to Self-Check-In Kiosk of AirAsia to check-in and print my boarding pass. Luckily I still managed to do it. Before that, I saw quite a number of people who scanned their luggage before entering the check-in hall. Therefore, I followed them to have my luggage scanned.

The prohibited items displayed in front of the scanner. Make sure you don't bring these kinds of items to airport.

This is the scanner. The policeman replied me 'thank you' after I thanked him. Hmm, quite polite, didn't he?

See, all of my bags had been checked! The policeman would stick this sticker on your bag's zip once they had been scanned. By the way, my friend told me that our baggage doesn't need to be scanned if we don't go overseas.

Check-in counters.

AirAsia's Self-Check-In Kiosk.

After printing my boarding pass, a problem arose. How could I check-in my luggage? As I saw so many people had their luggage checked-in but I couldn't see the counter that mentioned to Kuala Lumpur. There were just counters to Hong Kong and Langkawi. I took out my gutts and proceeded to the counter and asked a Malay staff there. He helped me to check-in my luggage and chopped my boarding pass. I thought I didn't need to have my boarding pass chopped since it was not mentioned. Luckily I asked the staff, otherwise the consequences would be unimaginable. I even asked him where should I wait for the aeroplane. He guided me patiently. Thanks a lot.

Before entering the waiting area, there was a policeman asking for my boarding pass. After that, there was another block! There were two machines to scan hand-carry belongings and a body scanner.

Whatever belongings that we bring will be clearly displayed on the monitor.

I asked the policewoman that should I untie my belt? She said I had to if I didn't want to be 'touched'.

See, this is the consequence of not untying your belt because the scanner would scream 'tee', 'tee', 'tee' if detecting a metal object! Your whole body will be checked thoroughly by the policeman.

Since there was a girl following my back, then the policewoman asked me whether we were couple. The girl had entered the waiting area during that time. I quickly denied and said:"Bukanlah, saya masih muda, mau main dulu, haha.". She smiled and said:"Dia ikut belakang you, so I ingat dia girl friend you." . I replied:"Saya pun tak tau kenapa dia ikut saya. Sana ada scanner pun ma.". Then she said:"Tadi dia ikut you, so sekarang you ikut dia balik, haha.". I was so speechless.

Inside the waiting area, there were a number of shops selling slippers, souvenirs, T-shirts, jeweleries and even massage service. While I was waiting for the arrival of my plane, I took out my laptop to online.

What are the differences between Penang Airport and K.L.I.A.? Firstly, Penang Airport is undoubtedly smaller. Secondly, the announcements in Penang Airport are made in Malays and English only, they leave out Mandarin as what they practise in K.L.I.A..

My boarding time was before 2:15p.m. while flying time was 2:45p.m.. Nonetheless, my flight was delayed due to the air traffic jam in K.L.I.A.. Wow, this was my first time to come across this kind of traffic jam! According to what my caption said, there was a massive air traffic jam causing him couldn't fly his airplane. Due to this, my flight was delayed until 3:30p.m.. This was what I want to avoid the most because it would be the time that everybody was off for work when I arrived at KL Sentral.

This was my first time to sit in the plane. It was not comfortable as the seat was very narrow and small. Luckily it was just a short journey, otherwise I couldn't imagine the suffer. The excitements were on the way the airplane starting to fly as the acceleration was extremely exciting and when the airplane was landing. Definitely, the airplane was shaking while landing but it drove my excitement.

In the airplane, there were demonstrations on how to put on the safety belt, mask and safety jacket. They sold snacks and drinks on the plane too. My caption told us that we were 35000 feets above the land when the airplane was flying steadily in the air. I could feel that I was on the top of the world since the clouds seemed like under my feet.

This was the airplane that I took.

Tell you one secret, there was one girl sitting beside me while we were waiting for the flight and 2 girls sat right beside me in the plane. I also noticed a similarity, that was every sky hostess must put on their mascara. However, the sky hostesses of AirAsia were not pretty enough, except for a Chinese sky hostess who could be considered as acceptable.

We were lead to the hall of L.C.C.T. to take our luggage.

This was it.

I saw so many people surrounding it but the luggage never came out. Thus, I went to toilet to wee. After I finish weeing, the luggage was still on its way to come out. I picked a trolley and waited at the luggage pathway. The decoration and design in L.C.C.T. were not much different from Penang Airport, in fact, Penang Airport was larger.

After I took my luggage, I headed to the bus counter where I had pre-ordered a bus ticket which would fetch me to KL Sentral. However, the staff there said I didn't need to print out the bus ticket but just head to the bus straightaway if I pre-ordered the bus ticket online. I did so. It was a one-hour journey to reach KL Sentral from L.C.C.T.. Then, I took komuter to go to my uncle's house first. My cousin and uncle came to fetch me. ^^

Farewell Lunch @ BICT

Sorry for updating this post so lately, this was because I was super busy preparing for my new semester recently.

Well, our company, BICT Engineering Sdn Bhd organised a farewell lunch for me and also Ping. We held it in a restaurant, called Eighteens. I was so glad that everybody was present on that day since that would be my last day to see them.

This was also the second time in this year that every staff in our company could gather together to have a meal. To me, it's quite meaning and I really appreciated it a lot. Thank you, guys and I won't forget you all. I hereby wish you all the best and good luck. Hopefully we can gather soon.
