Yoyoyo, I attended my Advanced Diploma Convocation at TARc last Saturday. Due to this, I purposely took advance annual leave on Friday to depart to Kuala Lumpur. Everyone in my office was pretty surprised when I took the leave because I was working for one week only.
I was the driver again even if I worked over time everyday and I was pretty tired. We went to fetch my grandpa before we left Penang. This was the first time my grandpa was willing to 'outstation' after 5 years.
We reached K.L. around 11:00 a.m.. Firstly, we headed to my sister's hostel to take my convocation's gown. Besides, we were going to buy mattress for her and her roommate. After that, we went to have our lunch. I was fed up with an incident before taking our lunch. I was declined to open a saving account at Genting Klang's CIMB Bank. The official told me that I should open the saving account at the branch near my house, my place of study or my workplace in my hometown.
Then, we went to my cousin's house to leave our luggage. I pretended to be one of the staff of my cousin's company in order to open a saving account at Kuchai Lama's CIMB Bank. The mortgage advisor, Bernard Tee told me that I didn't have to do so in my hometown, in fact I could open accounts at any branches.
Finally, everything was settled. I told my cousin that my mom and my sister wanted to buy 'Sticky'. Initially he didn't know what was I talking because they called it “公仔糖” in K.L.. He searched online and accidentally noticed its Facebook's page, there was a food fair or food expo at PWTC. Thus, we decided to go there as they offered a far lower price. Then we went to have Asam Laksa at 茨厂街. My youngest sister had her first experience taking L.R.T. that time.
On Saturday, it was a big day to me. It was not because of my convocation but it was the day to meet Dr Wong. Indeed, convocation was an event for me to gather or meet with my friends. This time, Y.B. Dato Chua Tee Yong was the one giving me the scroll. Out of my expectation, he told me “恭喜、恭喜” instead of 'congratulations'. Due to this, I smiled on the stage. There were fewer lecturers and tutors whom I know attending the parade, including Dr Wong. However, Dr Wong promised to wait for us at her office. My grandpa and my dad were the ones witnessed my convocation ceremony whereas my mom and my sisters were waiting outside the college hall.
After the end of the ceremony, it rained. For your information, my grandpa's super-sensitive to rain. Thereupon, I started to figure out a way to Dr Wong's office without getting wet. Yes, I headed straight away to Dr Wong's office instead of taking pictures with my friends or like what others normally did.
I couldn't find my good friends of my gang other than Vincent Pang. Where were they?
I met T.H.K. at Dr Wong's office. He was wearing a formal wear with coat. He told me that he didn't attend the convocation due to his late submission of the forms and money. Dr Wong was very happy to see me there and I passed her some biscuits from the well-known shop in Penang.
I got to know that T.H.K. had changed department in KPMG. He have changed to Advisory department of Corporate Finance. He told me that his job is exactly what we had done in P4 Advanced Financial Management. It sounds interesting and I believe that I would enter that department one day.
We started to take some photos:
This was taken by O.T.M. when I was going to queue up the stage to receive my scroll.
My family's photo. It was taken by A.C.P., thanks for that.
My family with Dr Wong. They were taken by T.H.K., thank you.
Dr Wong started to praise me when she saw my family members. Initially she spoke in English but I told her that they didn't know English, then she spoke in Mandarin. Dr Wong, actually you flattered me a lot.
T.H.K., Dr Wong, Mr Chong and I. My hook fell aside because I didn't bring any pin on that day.
Finally, Mr Chong extended his contract with TARc for another year. He told me that the P6 Advanced Taxation of ACCA in December 2012 sitting was easier than my sitting. Actually, I heard from Dr Wong before my graduation that Mr Chong was going to retire at the end of this year, luckily he extended his contract for another year. Dr Wong revealed that he is more passionate about his spiritual life.
T.H.K., O.T.M., Dr Wong and I. Dr Wong would ask us to take photo together whenever her students came. I still had some photos with Karthiyayini and others. Please send me the pictures for compilation, thank you.
These were the P4 family together with Mr Chong. These 3 photos were taken by Zack Tan's friend using their DSLR.
This is my youngest sister.
My best friend in TARc. I believed that I couldn't stand my life in TARc if he was not my listener.
I, W.S. and E.S.H..
This is Jennifer, O.S.K..
This is Vayne and I. I'm so sorry that my eyes looked weird. The first photo was because I forgot to shut my flash light. The second one was probably the flash light effect was still there.
This is Claire, whom I always called “表姐”. Actually, she looked prettier when she didn't make up. This is just my opinion. We looked like a vampire.
After that, we went back to meet my cousin for lunch. We had 怡保律酿豆腐 before we gave my younger sister her first experience to take L.R.T and monorail even though she has been in K.L. for few months.
This was taken in Pavilion. We witnessed the Sticky making process. It was amazing.
After we had our Bak Kut Teh as dinner, we went back to my cousin's house to rest. I met my nephew for the very first time at my uncle's house. He was so cute and I couldn't stop kissing him.
My nephew, Jensen and I. The one that I kissed him was with my uncle and I'm still waiting for him to tag me in Facebook.
On Sunday, we went to take my photo taken by the appointed photographer at TARc. I met some other friends over there, such as C.W.F., P.M.L., etc.. We went back to Penang after having our lunch at Puchong. It was a tiring journey and I almost met accidents, thanks god for blessing us to have a safe and sound journey.
There was traffic jam from Sungai Buloh to Rawang as there was car accident at Rawang due to heavy rain. I didn't know whether I was caught for speeding by A.E.S. Frankly speaking, I did speed and I didn't notice even one A.E.S. on my way to K.L.. Nonetheless, I did find two A.E.S.s on my way back.
Ergo, this was how I spent my days in K.L. to attend my Advanced Diploma convocation. I think, many of you may think that I miss the important moment but I'm not thinking in that way, as what I said, the purpose that I attended the convocation was to meet my friends and Dr Wong.
