First Hit

We checked our first semester's examination results in this morning. Actually, I didn't feel disappointed about my results since I was just able to get A- for English For Commerce, B+ for both Taxation and Business Information Technology and Application. To me, these results were terrible if you judged them with my Diploma's ones. However, I didn't feel disappointed but shocked. This is because I have never thought of getting A- for my English paper. For your information, I have never got an A for English paper in TARc. I thought I was able to overwrite this curse after taking the examination since I got A for my coursework and I was able to tackle the questions. I think, there is still a long way for me to improve my comprehension skills. Haha, I was downgraded from a distinction student to a merit student.

So, this was my first hit in the main campus and obviously, it was a failure. Out of my expectation, my Luckygirl sms me before my lecture started. She was so curious to know about my results. I tried to conceal it but at last I told her the truth. Her CGPA was same with me but grades for each subjects were the difference. She said she was upset and couldn't accept the truth. She needs some time to get through it. Oh my God, looks like she really takes results seriously. I don't know what will she feel and think after knowing my results. Am I disappointing her? Hopefully not but I doubt. I am afraid to think about it if she knows what will be my future career. For your information, I really appreciate her.

After my Audit tutorial, I went back to my hostel as soon as possible as I was rushing to Sungai Besi LRT station to wait for my cousin. Why? Haha... She is going to register to be married tomorrow at Putrajaya Registration Department. But, so unluckily, it rained like cats and dogs when I was going out of my hostel. Everything went smoothly after I reached the Wangsa Maju LRT station. I didn't need to queue up or wait for the train as the train arrived as soon as I reached there. Nevertheless, I felt I was useless when I was waiting for my cousin at Sungai Besi LRT station's bus station. A foreigner asked me:"Do you know how to go to Desa Tasik?" while showing me a list of addresses and pointing at Desa Tasik. At that moment, I was eagerly to help him but I couldn't as I could be considered as a foreigner as well in Kuala Lumpur. I had no choice and replied:"I don't know, sorry." He was quite disappointed but he continue to asked a Malay guy sitting beside me. Luckily he could help him but the foreigner seemed not trusting him.

Furthermore, I could feel about the caring of the society. On my way heading to Masjid Jamek, a blind person entered. Surprisingly, two Indian or foreigners who were sitting stood up and let the seats to the blind person. Wow, so touched! Along the journey, I noticed that the stick specially designed for blind person could be folded into 4 parts. This was what I didn't know before that.

Okay, back to today's topic. In my opinion, we can't always blame or try to rectify the past. Instead, we have to plan for our future. We can't do anything about the past but the future is still in our hand. Therefore, let's do a pre-assumption for this new semester. This semester, I take 3 subjects, which are Financial Management, Financial Reporting and Audit and Assurance. Among these 3 subjects, I am not confident in Audit and Assurance, especially after today's tutorial. This is because I can't link what I have learned to answer the question. The questions in Advanced Diploma are not as simple as Diploma's ones. Other than giving the definition or so-called points, we still need to give relevant explanation or elaboration. From what my Audit tutor showed was linking the relevant elaboration with the knowledge that we have learned from the study text. The problem is, I can't link the points up as she does. I know that I have to strengthen my skills on this part.
